Our Founding Story

by Reese Harwood

“Every moment counts in the fight against breast cancer. My mother’s battle with this disease has taught me the invaluable lesson of resilience and the urgent need for advancements in the healthcare industry due to lack of understanding with their finances. I shared this concern with three of my closest friends – Jack Hartmeier, Grant Offner, and Trey Mainz – and they all agreed. This is a lack of awareness about the critical role finance plays in healthcare. Without financial support, things like hospitals and biopharmaceutical companies that save lives would struggle to survive. Determined to make a difference we decided to create an initiative that would educate future generations at SMU about the world of healthcare finance. We believe that no contribution is too small in the battle to save lives.”

Our profits will go to a scholarship fund targeted towards students who either themselves or their guardians/siblings have been affected by cancer. Another portion of our profits will go towards the Bob Smith Medical Center.
